A free pocket novel, a romantic conference, and some scary stuff

I’m delighted to tell you that my Kindle book, Danger at Mellin Cove, which started life as a My Weeky Pocket Novel, is free to download here from Amazon for the next five days from Sunday July 15 – 19th.

It’s the first time I’ve done this so I don’t know what to expect, but here’s a little taster to hopefully encourage you to click that mouse.

“In Cornwall a dangerous world of passions and intrigue awaits Hedra St Neot when she agrees to help her bother, Kit, to run his Cornish inheritance, the wild and beautiful estate at Mellin Cove. But will she stay to help handsome fisherman, Jem Pentreath, protect the local community from her rogue uncle’s band of cutthroat smugglers?…Or will she finally agree to marry Sir Edward Tremaine, the rich mine owner who is besotted with her.

This is conference weekend for members of the Romantic Novelists’ Association who have been high tailing it to the venue in Penrith.

By all accounts it’s a great party, where new friends are made, top writers impart their knowledge, and magazine editors and literary agents mingle with everyone in the bars and coffee places.

So, as a new member, guess where I would love to be this weekend! Sadly I couldn’t manage, which is a shame because I’ve missed all the great workshops and presentations.

I especially wanted to hear the talk by Maggie Seed, editor of My Weekly Pocket Novels. Maggie knows everything there is to know about what makes a great ‘pocket’ – and I missed it! (Sob)

Hopefully someone more organized than myself, who actually managed to get there, will report back on this.

Have a fabulous time, ladies! I’m already looking forward to all the posts on your blogs.

PS: I had planned to post a few days ago about my foolishness for giving any credit to superstitions, but it was Friday 13th and I thought it might be unlucky.

Take care, all.  Rena x

  1. I felt a bit like Cinderella left at home this weekend as some of my writing friends had gone to the conference, too. Like you, I would have liked to have heard Maggie Seed speak. Maybe next time.

Thank you for the free book – looking forward to reading it.
