My First Post

Welcome to my blog.

I probably couldn’t have picked a better time to launch it.

I’ve just received my complimentary copies of the Ulverscroft Large Print paperback edition of my pocket novel, Danger at Mellin Cove, and couldn’t be more excited.

Now don’t laugh, but I’ve kindled it.

It was the most complicated thing I’ve ever done. Well, it wasn’t actually, for Amazon’s self publishing section holds your hand and takes you through the process, literally step by step. But I did things the hard way and discovered every which way NOT to kindle a book. For a start, I got the pricing wrong because I forgot VAT would be added.

When I eventually reached the publishing stage, the finished book looked nothing like it had done in the preview. After a further series of hit and miss attempts I finally got it right. (I think) The finished result isn’t perfect, but it’s a lot better than my first attempt.

The next one will be better.

  1. Congratulations Rena, so many good things on the go! I take my hat off to you for wading through the Kindle maze. I’ve never been brave enough and I’m so rubbish at IT I’d rather have root canal treatment than go through that. I greatly admire those who do though. All the best. x

Cara, lovely to see you here. Sorry it took so long to find you, I’m still getting the hang of this blogging business. Do have a go at putting some of your novels on Kindle though, it really is a doddle once you get the hang of it.

  2. I was so pleased to find your blog, Rena 🙂
And even more pleased to see you’d been kindling (I got in a pickle with pricing too when I did it) – I’m going to treat myself to Danger at Mellin Cove x
