Dracula Was Here!

Whitby, on the North Yorkshire coast – home to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the fishermen’s Gansey, black Jet, Captain Cook, and annual Goth weekends. It is also a delightfully friendly and picturesque fishing port.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a visit this week. Here are a few of the things we saw.

The Whitby Fish Market where little boats were arriving every few minutes to offload their shellfish catches.

A chocolate shop. I made the picture big because it’s… well…a chocolate shop.

Does this one need any explanation? Enjoy!

Nope. No idea what this is. Maybe a scratching tree for cats?

If you want to see more of lovely Filey, then why not treat yourself to a visit? The welcome will be warm – and the fish and chips are just to die for.

  1. Lovely photos. I’ve only been to Whitby once, but there is something magical about the place isn’t there and I definitely want to go back again. I don’t know how I missed that chocolate shop – shame on me 🙂 xx

The fish and chips in Whitby as quite special too, Teresa. I love the place because it’s not at all commercialised, very rare these days for such a popular place.xx
